The heat is on! The climate ambitions of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5°C will elude us, unless we act now. In the lead up to COP 26, the Emissions Gap Report 2021 finds that global temperatures could rise to 2.7°C at the end of the century. If, in the next eight years, the world is able to halve greenhouse gas emissions, we still stand a chance to prevent extreme climate change, biodiversity loss and to curb pollution and waste.
