The present paper outlines the links between the Sustainable Development Goals and multilateral environmental agreements in general and biodiversity-related multilateral environmental agreements in particular, with a special focus on Sustainable Development Goal targets and indicators in an attempt to inform discussions within the Inter-Agency and Expert Group on Sustainable Development Goal Indicators of the United Nations Statistical Commission and at the multilateral environmental agreement level.
